A new design fair is due to launch in Manhattan this May, coinciding with the second edition of Frieze New York (10-13 May). The event is scheduled to take place from 8 to 11 May and will feature more than 30 international exhibitors.
The event is being organised by a collective. Its founder and creative director is Steven Learner, of the eponymous architecture and interior design studio, which has worked with galleries including Blain DiDonna and Sean Kelly.
“There has been a marked increase in collecting and connoisseurship around design over the last few years,” says a spokesman. “So New York, as a center for design, art and culture, is an ideal location for the new fair.”
Correction: We understand from the PR company representing A(Fair)Design that this is the name of the parent company, and that the fair itself has yet to be named. The parent company is based at 19 Union Square West. The fair venue will be confirmed at a later point.
