The Artists in the Marketplace Biennial, hosted by the Bronx Museum of Art, opened on 15 June with a free sculpture exhibition at Randall’s Island, New York, including works by Stephanie Dodes and Alejandro Guzman. This is the second biennial hosted by Artists in the Marketplace, a programme designed to teach artists practical skills, such as grant writing and how to find gallery representation.
The biennial, organised by the curators Lia Zaaloff, Elizabeth Grady and Gabriel de Guzman, will expand throughout the month, with further openings at Wave Hill in the Bronx (22 June), the Bronx Museum (23 June) and 1285 Avenue of the Americas Art Gallery (24 June).
Correction: The biennial takes place on Randall's Island not Governor's Island, as mistakenly reported.
