Design fair to launch in Cape Town next year

Africa's first international design fair is part of the World Design Capital 2014 festival

Africa's first international design fair is due to launch in Cape Town next year. The Guild fair, which will take place from 27 February to 9 March 2014, will feature nine exhibitors. The event will be held in the V&A Waterfront area of the South African city. Established dealers, such as R20th Century of New York and Milan’s Rossana Orlandi, are due to participate, while the Victoria and Albert Museum in London will also send a delegation. The fair, founded by the husband-and-wife team Julian and Trevyn McGowan, is part of the World Design Capital 2014 festival. A spokeswoman for the fair says that other participating galleries will be announced shortly.
