LONDON. The Moscow World Fine Art Fair, set for its fifth edition between 27 May and 2 June, has invited auction houses to join its 60 exhibiting galleries and jewellers at this year’s edition. Sixtine Crutchfield, general manager of Art Culture Studio which runs the fair, said that the decision was taken because “we are an increasingly international fair and want to stand out, rather than just being a ‘mini-Maastricht’.” She says that the Christie’s-owned Haunch of Venison gallery and Sotheby’s-owned Noortman Master Paintings both have booths at Maastricht, but the Moscow fair wanted to be more “open and transparent”. Sotheby’s Russia department, the Dorotheum from Austria, Sweden’s Bukowskis auction house and Hotel Drouot from France have signed up. M.G.
