Military personnel unveil the Pentagon's memorial benches
Seven years after the terrorist attacks of 9/11, 184 military personnel stand ready to remove the covers on a series of benches in front of the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia. Each structure is inscribed with the name of one of the victims who died at the government building that day—59 aboard American Airlines Flight 77 which crashed into the Pentagon, and 125 while at work at their desks. The monument, the first to commemorate the victims of 9/11, has been designed by Kaseman Beckman Amsterdam Studio. Plans for a World Trade Center Memorial in New York are still being finalised.
