The spotlight (deservedly) shines on the key workers who kept the UK going during the coronavirus pandemic in a series of photographs taken by Jamie Hawkesworth called The New Front Line. Twenty-seven of Hawkesworth's images of modern-day heroes at the heart of the Covid-19 effort will go on show in a virtual selling exhibition organised by Phillips (14-28 July), with all proceeds going to the National Emergencies Trust charity. Some of the works are already talking points after some of the subjects appeared on the cover of the July issue of UK Vogue. These striking front line cover stars include Narguis Horsford, a London Overground train driver; Rachel Millar, a community midwife at Homerton Hospital in London; Karrie Scott, a 24-year-old postal worker who painted her nails red to match her Royal Mail van; and Anisa Omar, a Waitrose supermarket assistant. Hawkesworth says: “[The sitters] were in their element and during that time there were incredible moments of appreciating someone in all their glory in a simple and sensitive way.” Each of the 27 works in the selling exhibition are available as 16 x 12 inch prints, priced at £2,000 per print.
