Anita Zabludowicz: Anita's diary: letting our hair down

I went the most perfect party night which ended up on an island in the middle of nowhere to celebrate Jeremy Deller and the British pavilion. All the Brits were there, including John Gerrard with a couple of his pals.

Lizzie and Jen Lewandowski also got into the groove—the music was euphoric.

The next day I was back to the grind. We were greeted in the garden by a man hanging from a tree.

Then I saw Antti Laitinen building his own tree outside the Finnish Pavillion.

Art and gardening

"The Encyclopaedic Palace", at the central pavilion in the Giardani, was full to the brim with artists I have never heard of. However, the Zabludowicz Collection does resonate with paintings by artists such as Maria Lassnig, Lynette Yiadom Boakye, Varda Caivano and Ellen Altfest. The Zabludowicz Collection lent a work from Varda Caivano's Untitled series, painted between 2005 and 2012.

Finally, just as I was leaving, I had time to check out the very strange human arm, caged and on display amongst other curiosities.
