CCA Wattis hires Anthony Huberman as director
The CCA Wattis Institute for Contemporary Arts, San Francisco has hired a new director, Anthony Huberman, the founding director of the Artist’s Institute, New York. He replaces Jens Hoffman, who left for the East Coast last year to become deputy director at the Jewish Museum, New York. Huberman opened the Artist’s Institute in 2010 as a project with Hunter College–CUNY, where he is a lecturer. Before that, he was the chief curator at the Contemporary Art Museum St Louis (2007-10), a curator at the Palais de Tokyo, Paris (2006-07) and at SculptureCenter, New York (2003-06), and a director of education and public programs at MoMA PS1, New York (1999-2003).
