The past year has presented the art trade with unprecedented challenges, but it has also revealed how changes in the way we do business may re-shape the industry into a more collaborative one. More galleries are working together, new art communities are coalescing and digital innovations are being developed at great speed. It is clear the art market is headed in a new direction—and if flights are grounded and borders closed due to the pandemic, perhaps that new direction will be a “glocal” one.

So, where will these developments lead us in the next year, two years, ten years?

In a new, three-part online live event series beginning on 8 October, hosted in partnership with Cromwell Place, The Art Newspaper will explore how the market is not only adapting but expanding. Join us as we talk to industry experts about why galleries of all sizes are teaming up to try out new ideas, the shift to the “glocal” and what the art world can do to prepare for what could be a radically different future.

Details on each event and registration information is provided below. These events are free to attend with registration, limited spaces available.
