9/11 Tenth Anniversary

12 Sep 11 – 31 Dec 11

The National September 11 Memorial & Museum remembers those killed in the 2001 World Trade Center attacks and the 1993 bombing.

Nearly 3,000 victims will be honoured with images on the site’s Wall of Faces. Personal artefacts—such as the business cards, ice hockey puck and lacrosse gloves of Andrew Stergiopoulos, who was killed in 2001—will be displayed next to the photos. The Memorial Museum is currently acquiring materials for its permanent collection and is asking for photographs, videotapes, voice messages, recovered property, clothing and other personal effects of victims. President Barack Obama, former president George Bush, Michael Bloomberg and Rudolph Giuliani, who was in office during the attacks, will participate in the opening day ceremony, where the names of each victim will be read aloud. Categories: Thematic
