Urs Fischer: Madame Fisscher
Until 15 Jul 12
Urs Fischer is the first living artist to have a solo exhibition at the billionaire art collector François Pinault’s Palazzo Grassi in Venice (15 April-15 July).
“He is one of the most important artists of his kind right now,” says the curator of the show, Caroline Bourgeois, “and has a unique way of working because he is self-taught.” Taking up two floors of the Palazzo Grassi, the exhibition will include around 30 works, some of which are on loan from the artist’s personal collection, while others come from the François Pinault Foundation.
Bourgeois also confirms the arrival of loans from around ten international collections, along with some new works that have never been seen before.
“Given his recent success at the Venice Biennale, it seemed like the right moment,” she says. E.R.
