In 1973, Australians were able to see prime examples of Minimal Art for the first time in a New York Museum of Modern Art travelling exhibition “Some Recent American Art”. A number of the works exhibited came from the National Gallery of Australia, and these now form part of a new exhibition at The Drill Hall Gallery, Kingsley Street, Acton. “Content and Meaning in Minimal Art” runs until 20 January 1991 and includes work by Mark Rothko, Ellsworth Kelly, Barnett Newman, Donald Judd and the black stripe paintings of Frank Stella.
