Obituary for Annette Giacometti

Both Giacometti's spouse and favourite subject, Annette's championing of his talent persisted after his passing

Annette Giacometti wife of Alberto Giacometti, died Paris, 19 September, aged seventy. Born in Switzerland, Annette Arm met Giacometti in 1943 when he was working in Geneva. She joined him in Paris after the war, where they were married in 1949. Together with the artist's brother, Diego, she became his principal model. After Alberto's death in 1966, she set up a Foundation in his name.
