The rebuilding work on the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), New York, is due to begin at the end of 2003, and the museum has decided to send some of its finest works on a world tour. The Friends of the Nationalgalerie in Berlin have announced that 180 masterpieces will go on display there for six months, from March to September 2004. The Nationalgalerie’s much admired Mies van der Rohe-designed building is particularly suited to showing such works, says director of the Berlin State museums, Peter-Klaus Schuster.
