New appointment at the Pontifical Academy, Rome

Letizia Pani Ermini, the specialist in medieval archaeology, has been appointed president of the Pontifical Academy in Rome by the Pope.

Letizia Pani Ermini, the specialist in medieval archaeology, has been appointed president of the Pontifical Academy in Rome by the Pope; she was previously secretary to the Academy. This is the first time that a woman has occupied a post of such responsibility in the Vatican.
