V&A appeals for help to find stolen jade

The Victoria and Albert Museum in London is appealing for help in tracking down nine pieces of Chinese jade which were stolen on 4 October from a glass cabinet in one of the ceramics galleries. The dark-green jade losses were small portable items: three cups and a bowl, two ornamental plaques (above, an early Ming plaque), a ritual cylinder and two animal figures. Their total value is £60,000 ($108,000). V&A Museum director Mark Jones told The Art Newspaper: “This appears to have been a well organised theft and the intention is probably to sell these objects quickly”
