The Hahn Leonardo, The Portrait of a Woman, called ‘La Belle Ferronnière’, was once believed to be authentic, but is now thought to be by a follower. Current owner Jacqueline Hahn won a battle to recover the painting from Omaha lawyer Jack Chapman. On 3 August it was handed over, to comply with a court judgment, and taken to the Getty Museum where curator Scott Schaefer deemed it to be a pre-1750 copy. It comes to auction on 28 January in New York (est $300,000-$500,000).
