Tate served up in-flight

You've finished your ready meal and drunk the hostess trolley dry. But there is now another way to while away the hours in the air zooming from art fair to biennial to art fair. Passengers on British Airways flights can watch documentaries and films about leading artists, such as Yayoi Kusama, Ai Weiwei and Ed Ruscha, on a new Tate Channel. Richard D’Cruze, British Airways in-flight entertainment manager, told the website The Drum: “We’re excited to be the first airline to have a dedicated Tate channel, offering our customers more entertainment options than ever before... recent research we carried out showed that travellers are keen to use their time on board productively." Films featuring Damien Hirst will also be available (so sharks in formaldehyde and spot paintings can be perused—alongside the latest blockbuster film).
