The Paris auction house Artcurial is planning to extend its international reach to China later this year, with a first sale in Hong Kong—in association with the London auction house Spink. The auction will be of Classical, Modern and contemporary Asian art and objects, according to sources. Artcurial declined to comment but a spokeswoman for Spink, which is already active in Hong Kong and Singapore, confirmed that Artcurial’s inaugural sale, planned for 5 and 6 October, is being organised in association with them. As part of its international expansion, Artcurial has opened representative offices in the past three years in Brussels, Milan, Vienna and Beijing and appointed a representative in Tel Aviv in February.
