That's gotta hurt

Art Crit Zingers, a quirky and very entertaining new website, compiles the most painful comments artists have heard during critiques and workshop visits, from the bad to the ugly—and the downright cruel. They include: “The good girl in you isn’t letting the bad girl come out” (said to Amelia Midori Miller); “Who does your frames?” (Kent Michael Smith); “This work isn’t so much gay as it is homosexual” (Matt Grubb); “This is less Joy Division and more Belle and Sebastian” (Michael Marcelle); and: “Your work somehow relates to the life of Laura Ingalls Wilder [the author of the Little House on the Prairie books]” (Mitsuko Brooks).
