The Focus section of The Armory Show art fair, which promotes galleries from different regions of the world, will showcase Africa in 2016. It will be organised by Julia Grosse and Yvette Mutumba, the founders of Contemporary And (C&), a website and magazine that are a self-proclaimed “platform for international art from African perspectives”. Past Focus sections have brought galleries from the Middle East, Scandinavia and China to New York. The fair is currently managed by the interim director, Deborah Harris, following the departure of its former director, Noah Horowitz, to the Art Basel Miami Beach art fair. The 2016 edition of The Armory Show will run from 3 to 6 March.
