The Contemporary Art Society (CAS) wants to place major works by British contemporary artists in regional UK museums. With support from the Sfumato Foundation, the Great Works scheme will buy one work annually for one of CAS’s 69 member museums, most of which are outside London and have been priced out of the contemporary market. The first round of applications is due in February. The institution that makes the strongest case will be awarded the work in March 2016.
