The renovation of grand Parisian hotels and eateries continues to pour a stream of furnishings and fittings into France’s salerooms. On 9 May, the historic Tour d’Argent restaurant will offer furniture, tableware and decorative art as it reinvents itself for its sixth century. Lots coming to Artcurial auction house include a 16th-century carpet (est €4,000-€5,000), a six-panel litho-printed screen by the Paris-school artist Bernard Cathelin (est €2,000-€3,000); a fine silver chalice presented to the restaurant by Norodom Sihanouk, Cambodia’s late king, prime minister and president; 120 silvered bronze goblets from the Parisian atelier Rouge-Pullon; and nearly 2,500 Riedel wine glasses.
