Yves Saint Laurent’s life and work to go on show

Museums dedicated to Yves Saint Laurent are due to open in autumn 2017 in Paris and Marrakesh, where the couturier spent most of his life. The institutions will house displays from the Fondation Pierre Bergé-Yves Saint Laurent’s vast archive of garments and sketches. In Paris, the foundation is refurbishing the designer’s former headquarters. In Marrakesh, there will be a new building near the Jardin Majorelle, the garden and villa owned by Saint Laurent and Bergé, his former partner. Funding comes partly from Bergé’s auction of Islamic art and furniture at Artcurial last year.
