The Japanese clothing chain Uniqlo is making deep inroads in the art world. Not content with becoming one of Tate Modern’s sponsors—the retailer is backing a new live series, dubbed Uniqlo Fridays, at the London gallery—it has also launched a new line of bags and T-shirts adorned with designs by Kaws. The jaunty garments are emblazoned with some of the Brooklyn-based artist’s trademark huge cartoon figures, making them ideal for rave nights—or perhaps just an arty evening in front of the TV.
