Joint London exhibition for Norwegian royal and A-ha star

Her Majesty Queen Sonja of Norway, a keen artist, will show her latest artistic efforts at the Paul Stolper gallery in London this autumn (28 September-15 October). The arty royal has made a portfolio of ten prints in collaboration with the artist Magne Furuholmen—formerly of the pop group A-ha—entitled Texture. “Her Majesty has already been making editions of prints for the past five years, [which are] etchings of her own photography from walks in nature. Furuholmen took these close-ups of rock surfaces as a point of departure, adding to them photos of his own sculptures,” says a gallery statement. The pair mixed up the pieces, interchanging plates (and ideas). A percentage of any sales will go towards the Queen Sonja Print award, the largest international prize of its kind, which is bestowed biannually.
