The Dallas Museum of Art in Texas will present treasures from the Musée de Cluny-Musée National du Moyen Âge in Paris—which is currently undergoing a €7.3m renovation and expansion, due to be completed in 2020—in the travelling exhibition Art and Nature in the Middle Ages. The show, due to open on 4 December (until 19 March 2017), will feature around 100 objects that date from the 12th to early 16th centuries, including tapestries, stained glass, stone capitals and manuscripts. “Focusing this exhibition on the representation of nature from the Romanesque through High Gothic periods allows us to consider not only the changes but also the continuities in style and meaning over the course of five centuries,” says Nicole Meyers, the curator of the Dallas show. The museum plans to expand its collection of Medieval art in the coming years, Meyers says.
