David Bowie and Guy Pearce have both played Andy Warhol on film; the Oscar-winning actor Jared Leto is now due to portray the godfather of Pop art in a new film according to Rolling Stone magazine, with Victor Bockris's 1989 publication Warhol: The Biography the basis for the new movie. The screenwriter Terence Winter, who worked on The Sopranos, will pen the script. Leto is an art buff, having attended the University of the Arts in Philadelphia before transferring to New York City's School of Visual Arts where he studied film-making.
