Old garage, new tenants

An unlikely pair of Paris museums—the Fondation Henri Cartier-Bresson and the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature (the Museum of Hunting and Nature)—have teamed up to acquire a former garage in the city’s Marais district. Two floors of the 2,000-sq.-m space will be occupied by the late photographer’s foundation, currently housed in a former artists’ studio in the 14th arrondissement. The Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature will keep its current home in two historic mansions on the Rue des Archives and expand into the garage’s three upper storeys. The renovation is expected to cost €9m and is due to open in late 2018.
