Live auctions are all the rage nowadays but it’s definitely worth tuning into the latest benefit sale organised by the arts and mental health charity Hospital Rooms, which will be streamed live on Zoom from Hauser & Wirth gallery in London this evening (live auction, from 7pm GMT; please note also that “silent” bids can be placed on the Hospital Rooms page until 20.30). Artists such as Anish Kapoor, Emma Talbot, Julian Opie and Lothar Götz have all donated prime pieces to the sale while Ryan Mosley’s vibrant Jenny painting stands out, estimate £15,000-£18,000. Hospital Rooms say in a statement: "We commission world class artists to work with mental health patients and staff in collaborative and responsive workshops. Together, they are radically transforming bleak clinical environments and making them imaginative and thoughtful"—so please log on and dig deep for a very healthy and worthwhile cause.
