The US artist and activist Nan Goldin has made some new photographic works—this time for the Stockholm fashion brand Acne Studios, which marks its 30th anniversary with a series of new portraits by the famed photographer, known for her series The Ballad of Sexual Dependency.
Goldin “captures figures from the Acne Studios community in a series of raw, direct portraits wearing a mix of current, archive and re-editions of emblematic denim styles spanning the last 30 years,” according to a PR statement. Figures caught in Goldin’s gaze include the artist Jonathan Lyndon Chase, the actor Juliette Lewis, the musician Ellie Rowsell and the artist Peter Schlesinger (who is the former partner of David Hockney and famously features in the UK artist’s Portrait of an Artist (Pool with Two Figures), 1972).
A mystery model—decked out in denim, of course—will be revealed at a later date, apparently. Watch this (ad) space.
