From 7 to 12 January one hundred dealers from eighteen countries are assembling for the ninth Art Miami, a fair for modern and contemporary art. The solidly rich, not very young, Florida collectors attract established European and US dealers in the secondary market, such as Waddington, one of London’s top names. The Hispanic community of Miami also draws Spanish and Latin American galleries, such as Joan Prats of Barcelona, Ruth Benzacar of Buenos Aires and Galeria Minotaura of Caracas, as well as Mary-Anne Martin of New York, who specialises in Latin American art. This year the fair has organised guided bus tours of the various art institutions of Miami, including the Bass Museum of Art, the Miami Art Museum and the Wolfson Museum. The gala preview will be paying tribute to the Korean artist Nam June Paik.
