To celebrate its 50th birthday this year, the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago has given itself a gift as part of a building redesign: a new restaurant, the Marisol, named after the late sculptor, who gave the museum its first work in 1968. Trinidad-based Chris Ofili has designed the interior, from the wall décor to the table tops, and has played off the space’s vaulted ceilings in a fantastical mural called The Sorceress’ Mirror (2017). Thankfully, there is none of the UK artist’s trademark elephant dung in sight.
