The Victoria And Albert Museum has annnounced an attendance figure of 1.2 million people to its South Kensington site in 1995. The total represents a slight decrease from 1994 when 1,440,334 visitors attended, the largest number in almost ten years. On the whole, the other museums run by the Victoria and Albert have done well. Although the Bethnal Museum of Childhood was down to 192,246 visitors from 199,175 in 1994, the Theatre Museum, Covent Garden saw a significant rise from 60,033 in 1994 to 107,396 in 1995. Most successful of all was the Wellington Museum at Apsley House which welcomed 55,620 visitors from June-December 1995 following its reopening after three and a half years of restoration. In 1991 only 25,090 people had visited.
