The house where the Italian artist Amedeo Modigliani was born in Livorno in 1884 has opened as a museum. Modigliani lived in the house up until he moved to Paris at the age of 16 in 1920. On display are documents and photographs relating to his life. In accordance with the wishes of the artist’s daughter, Jeanne Modigliani, who in 1983 created the Modigliani Archives, the museum also incorporates a study centre and runs a grant programme for artists.
