Gagosian empire expands to China

Hong Kong will soon be home to a branch of the super-gallery

Gagosian is expanding again, this time into the Asian market. The Gagosian global brand, which already has selling spaces in Beverly Hills, Rome and Athens, as well as three galleries and a retail outlet for artists’ products in New York, two London spaces—and a Paris gallery due to open in the eighth arrondissement, has now found a “a major space” in Hong Kong, according to a spokeswoman. Larry Gagosian already has an office there, and participates in the art fair ArtHK.
