The Tate is launching a South Asian acquisitions committee to collect contemporary and Modern art from India and surrounding countries, as well as an acquisition committee for works from Russia and eastern Europe. The South Asian group will be separate from the Asia Pacific acquisitions committee, which was founded in 2007. The Tate’s Latin American acquisitions committee, which now has 43 members, celebrated its tenth birthday this year.
