A group of paintings and drawings by Ibrahim El-Salahi, several of which were shown in the Sudanese artist’s Tate Modern retrospective in 2013, is for sale through Vigo Gallery in London (on show until 31 July). The series of nine works, Flamenco (2009-15), was made following an invitation from the Libyan banker and collector Abdulmagid Breish to travel to Andalusia, southern Spain. Prices range from £25,000 for a drawing to £300,000 for a large-scale ink on paper. The market for El-Salahi’s works is developing fast. “It’s really now at 85 that he is releasing his works,” says Toby Clarke, Vigo Gallery’s director.
