The 12th Fine Art Asia fair will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 30 September-3 October. The fair’s 93 exhibitors this year have a particular emphasis on Himalayan art, from dealers including Rossi & Rossi of London and Hong Kong; Tenzing Asian Art of San Francisco; and Jacques How Asian Art of Brussels. “Himalayan Buddhist art has been commanding unprecedented prices recently, and the market is dynamic and exciting,” says Carlton Rochell of New York’s Carlton Rochell Asian Art, who will offer a trio of Tibetan gilt bronzes.

The fair also expands its focus on photography, including several mid-century documenters of Hong Kong. The local Blue Lotus Gallery presents Ho Fan, a photographer and filmmaker who captured the city in the 1950s and 60s, an era also captured by France’s Raymond Cauchetier. Silver prints from the latter’s 1954 visit to Hong Kong and Macau will hang on Boogie Woogie Photography’s stand. Co-directed by founder Andy Hei and Calvin Hui, Fine Art Asia last year displayed works valued at HK$3bn and attracted 22,500 visitors.
