The British movie star Hugh Grant is not happy about the visiting restrictions at UK museums in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. “What’s this bollocks about having to book online first at every museum, art gallery, zoo I try to go to? Data theft? Or just the relentless dead-eyed march of techcrap?” tweeted the star of Notting Hill and Paddington 2.

Grant’s complaint prompted a flood of comments from arts and museum professionals reassuring the disgruntled actor that he was welcome to wander into their institutions any time. One contributor said: “Come to @MuseumCardiff. There’s no longer any need to book in advance, you can just stroll in and clap your eyes on some lovely art. Also—dinosaurs.”
