Jennifer Lawrence, star of The Hunger Games and Don’t Look Up, has revealed that her first child has a very artistic first name. No, not Pablo or Vincent but the more unusual Cy. That moniker brings to mind Cy Twombly, the hugely influential US artist who died in 2011. Why did she pick this name? Lawrence’s husband Cooke Maroney, who is the director of Gladstone Gallery in New York, is a big devotee of Twombly, according to US Vogue. In the opening line of Twombly’s New York Times obituary, his work is described as being “spare, childlike scribbles”—which we’re sure Cy junior will be mimicking in no time.
