The celebrity count was high at the VIP preview of Art Basel in Miami Beach yesterday, with the pop star Shakira, the supermodel Cindy Crawford and the tennis star Serena Williams all making an appearance at the fair. Williams was accompanied by the French artist JR, who is showing his mural, The Chronicles of Miami, at the Jungle Plaza in the Design District. The Oscar-winning actor Jared Leto, a regular visitor to the fair, also attended. The high-profile architect Peter Marino and the former Venice Biennale curator Cecilia Alemani also turned up.
