The renowned Instagram art world commentator Jerry Gogosian is heading off into the social media sunset, announcing that her acerbic account is no more. “I have so loved and enjoyed being Jerry, but it is time to let it go,” said its creator, Hilde Lynn Helphenstein, who opened the account in 2018 and by its end had amassed more than 152,000 followers.

The account—a platform for Helphenstein’s opinions on matters such as blue-chip dealers and art fair management—has been a springboard for other projects, including a Sotheby’s show in 2022. In February, Helphenstein announced that she had signed with the Hollywood talent company UTA.

When The Art Newspaper bumped into her at the Art Basel Shop in June, Helphenstein told us that she wanted “to write a White Lotus or Succession of the art world”. And she has another objective too, adding: “Besides my creative endeavours, I want to work for MCH Group and eventually for Art Basel.” Are you listening, Basel bigwigs?
