Madrid's Thyssen Bornemisza Museum appeals to the ladies, visitor figures find

Dutch Landscape exhibition proves popular

Over 100,000 people visited the first temporary loan exhibition at the Thyssen Bornemisza Museum in Madrid, which closed last February. “The Golden Age of Dutch Landscape”, sponsored by Banco Central Hispano, was the first major exhibition on this theme to be presented in Spain. A recent survey carried out at the museum also revealed that the most frequent visitors are women between eighteen and twenty-nine years of age. A total of thirty-two percent of visitors are from the city of Madrid itself, with another thirty percent coming from abroad.
