In 1976 Andy Warhol was quick to send the cars destroyed in his “Car crash” for repairs to the bodywork. This was in compliance with the commission, which was to mark the hundredth anniversary of the invention of the car. On 5 October, the series known as “Cars” opens the season at the Juan March Foundation. “Cars” consists of forty-seven works (thirty-five “paintings” and twelve “drawings”). The artist was working on them until two weeks before his death in February 1987. The exhibition is sponsored by Daimler-Benz and will run until 5 January.
