TEFAF Basel under new management

The coordination of the fair will be taken over by Messe Basel

Four years after it began in 1995, TEFAF in Basel, the fair specialising in Greek and Roman antiquities, Asiatic and Pre-Columbian art (and originally an offshoot of the European Fine Art Foundation in Maastricht), is changing hands: the Swiss company Messe Basel, which runs Art Basel, the largest modern and contemporary art fair, has made a deal with Tefaf to take over management of its fair. Samuel Keller, in charge of public relations for Messe Basel, says that the fair will be run in close collaboration with international dealers. There will be some changes in the administrative council and also some replacements amongst the staff.
