BMW, official co-sponsors of ABMB, have been looking after a party of hacks royally and showing them the sights. In gratitude to Norman and Irma Braman, who must have one of the most astonishing collections in the US, for letting the said hacks range free around it, a BMW chief made a little speech, asking rhetorically what one can give someone who already has everything (“Jewellery”, said Mrs Bramer dryly), and then presented them with a first edition of the catalogue of the Pop art in the Ludwig Collection, designed by Wolf Vostell. Rosa de la Cruz, for similarly entertaining the ladies and gentlemen of the press, got a miniature BMW Art Car designed by Jenny Holzer in a smart red box.
