MoMA makes a stand by acquiring video removed from display by Washington's NPG

Wojnarowicz’s A Fire in My Belly is already on display at the New York museum

The Museum of Modern Art started off the New Year on a bold foot by acquiring the original version of David Wojnarowicz’s 13-minute video A Fire in My Belly (1986–87), which the National Portrait Gallery, Washington, DC, took off display after complaints from the Catholic League. The New York museum has already put the video on display along with other works responding to the HIV/Aids epidemic.
