Warsaw’s Chopin Airport now has an art gallery, which opened last month. The city’s Zacheta National Gallery and the National Museum joined forces to create it, while the airport provided the space. The opening show, “Warsaw Encourages” (until 11 March), features works portraying Warsaw and events in its history. The summer show will be of Polish sporting posters to coincide with the Euro 2012 football championship, which Poland is co-hosting with the Ukraine. “We wanted to offer travellers a moment of calm,” says a spokesman for the airport.
