V&A’s Dundee satellite shifts to dry land to save on costs

The new design will hopefully be complete by 2015

Dundee

A Scottish branch of London’s Victoria and Albert Museum has attracted £4m in private donations to add to the £15m promised by the Scottish government. But the £45m museum in Dundee will not be completed until 2015 at the earliest, a year later than originally planned. To keep costs in check, the Japanese architect Kengo Kuma has redesigned the building so that it will be on the river bank instead of projecting out over the River Tay.
